Butternut Squash Metro

Cylindrical tan coloured fruits, deep orange interior, with dense sweet flavoured flesh. Slightly smaller fruits than most varieties but with higher yields. Suitable for Winter storage.

How to Grow:

Plant in a sunny position in well-drained soil, rich in humus. Keep the soil moist around the plants. As fruit begins to appear and swell, remove some leaves to expose them to the sun. Mid September onwards. When ripe the fruit turns an increasingly deep orange colour. After harvesting the fruit should be left to 'cure' in the sun for 10 days. For Winter storage leave the fruits to mature on the plants, and store in a cool room indoors. (Protect from frost).
